The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress in the Sunyani West Constituency, Madam Millicent Yeboah Amankwaah has began the construction of a mechanized borehole at Gyaase Electoral Area at Chiraa.
As part of several humanitarian initiatives being undertaking by her outfit to bring relieve to the constituents of Sunyani West, Madam Yeboah Amankwaah this week, surprised the people of Gyaase Electoral Area when she mobilised a contructor to site to begin the drilling of a mechanized borehole to provide potable water for the community.
Speaking to the media after a short ceremony, the Parliamentary Candidate – Madam Millicent Yeboah Amankwaah stated that ”water is life in this crucial times of coronavirus pandemic ” and so when she was informed that the people of Gyaase basically fight with animals over a springwater for their survival, she was touched by this worrying phenomenom and hence her decision to provide them with a potable water.
She added that ”this borehole while providing them with a clean water for their basic household activities will also help them to frequently wash their hands to protect the community of this novel coronavirus disease.
The Chief of Chiraa, Nana Barima Mintah Afari on behalf of his people, expressed a high appreciation to the Parliamentary Candidate to come to the aide of the people in this difficult situation. According to the Chief, the issue of water at the community has been a headach for many years and that providing them with potable water is a means of salvaging the entire community from calamity to give them lives.
