Sawla Tuna Kalba District Assembly Embarks on Massive Clean Up Exercise – Residents Applaudes DCE


The Sawla Tuna Kalba District Assembly led by the hardworking Hon Lawal Tamimu Embarked on a massive clean up exercise in Sawla and Tuna as part of the clean Ghana Campaign to empty major dump sites in the District.

The major Dump sites that were destroyed by the assembly include the PWD dump site, Changbalanyiri (sawla Dam ) dump site, Sindaa dump site, Tuna East and West Dump sites, making these places an eye saw. A move that has been applauded by many.

According to the District Chief Executive of the Assembly, Hon Lawal Tamimu said the move was part of measures to keep Sawla Tuna Kalba District Clean as part of the clean Ghana campaign launched nationwide to avoid unnecessary outbreak of diseases in the area.

Speaking at the Sidelines of the exercise, Hon Tamimu said it is the duty of the Assembly to make sure residents of the district are safe and healthy by improving the sanitation situation in the area.

Hon Tamimu called on the people of Sawla to appreciate the assembly’s efforts on improving Sanitation by maintaining the dump sites and using the right channels to dispose off garbage.

The Exercise according to the DCE will end in Kalba in coming days to help improve healthy living conditions in district.

The Sawla District Assembly has been applauded by many for standing up to the task and setting a good example for the masses to follow.
