The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed that the One Constituency, One Ambulance promise of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be fulfilled in December 2019.
The Vice President who today addressed a gathering of Muslims and traditional leaders to mark the 23rd Annual Quranic Commentary Ceremony in Tamale said the Ambulances have started arriving in Ghana and by December, all the 275 Constituencies will receive their Ambulances to boost medical delivery across the country.
Dr. Bawumia urged the people of Dagbon to vote for the New Patriotic Party in 2020 since according to him, the kingdom owes His Excellence, Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo a big debt of gratitude and that “debt of gratitude should be paid in 2020 when Nana Akufo-Addo is seeking re-election. He gave us peace after 40 years of turmoil, the least we can do is to give him four (4) more years as payment and thankfulness to bringing peace in Dagbon”.
“…..the one constituency, one ambulance, by December Insha Allah would have arrived and every constituency will get it share of the ambulance” Dr. Bawumia assured.
The 23rd Annual Quranic Commentary Ceremony in Tamale organized by Sheikh Luqman Bamba is geared towards the advocacy of Islam and its teachings as in the Holy Quran. In his welcome address, Dr. Majeed Haroun added the ceremony also aims at fostering peace and enhance unity in Tamale, Dagbon and Ghana at large. He however, expressed appreciation to President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo for ensuring peace in Dagbon, adding the intervention is significant to the people of Dagbon.
Dr. Majeed nonetheless appealed to the Government to assist the Bambawia Islamic School construct a Senior High School and Training College on a land donated by the Chief of Tolon after last year’s ceremony. This, he noted will maximize the gains made by the government in ensuring peace in Dagbon.
This year’s Quranic Commentary Ceremony witnessed the presence of the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Sheikh Osman Bouchi from Nigeria, Prominent Imams and Chiefs in the five (5) regions of the North, some government appointees and Regional Executives of the NPP among others.
