The District Chief Executive for Sawla Tuna Kalba District Hon Lawal Tamimu on Monday cut sod for the construction of a huge drainage system in Sawla to facilitate the free flow of waste that ends up in choked gutters due to poor drainage systems in the area.
The project according to the DCE will go a long way to help reduce the rate at which malaria keep terrorizing the people of Sawla.
Hon Tamimu disclosed that the Project forms part of Strategic Measures set aside by the Assembly to conbact the Sanitation situation and to help promote healthy living among residents in the area.
The DCE handed over site to the contractor for the Construction of a suitable drainage system to enable the free flow of waste to keep Sawla Clean as part of government’s initiative to Keep Ghana Clean and make it a conducive place for Foreign investors.
Hon Tamimu was accompanied by a powerful delegation from the assembly to hand over site to the contractor and to have a feel of the situation in the area first hand.
Residents of the area have thanked the DCE for his fight against poor sanitation in the area and urged him to do more in other sectors as well.
